Yesterday we brought you our full report from a visit to the set of Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare on Elm Street remake starring Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Kellan Lutz, Thomas Dekker, and Clancy Brown. Now today we've got the new official poster courtesy of MySpace. The first poster for this Nightmare on Elm Street remake debuted at Comic-Con last July - see it here. This new one is simply an alternate version of the original poster with a different Freddy Krueger pose, but I like it a little better. There's just something very creepy about this. Check it out below!

A new reimagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people inside their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality, too.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is directed by first-time filmmaker Samuel Bayer, who got his start directing commercials. The screenplay was co-written by Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick (The Saint, Doom). This is a remake of Wes Craven's original Nightmare on Elm Street horror classic from 1984. New Line / Warner Brothers is bringing A Nightmare on Elm Street to theaters on April 30th.

really wondering how this movie is going to turn out..... I know they go in depth w/ the back story on this one but i see they kept a lot of stuff from the original.

I think it is important that while I can understand some people's disdain for Michael Bay... that he has literally 0 creative involvement in both this remake, and the Friday the 13th remake... Much like Lorenzo Boneventura is the moneyman behind producing Transformers, GI Joe, etc.. where the Bay/Sommers deserve blame for their craptacularness.. Bay's Platinum Dunes production company is simply the money machine behind these remakes, and Bay has no creative input on the films from a writing or cinematography standpoint.

Good or bad. Ill see it. I like how they changed up Freddy's face. His burnt face looks more real. Now from what Im reading he is supposed to be a victim. I hope that aint right. We all know Freddy is supposed to he bastard child of a thousand men. I guess theyre taking a more real approach. It should be interesting....

Apparently it's not very good. Folks that have seen the test viewings have said it's... Well, wack.

I swear in the original he's a child rapist/killer and they burn him alive...

but wow Amen so....Bay had NOTHING 2 do wit the Friday the 13th remake?...cuz it (and the first trailer from this new Freddy joint) got the same feel to it as both Bad Boys films..and Pearl Harbor and The Rock....

Rorschach playing Freddie huh. The CGI wall wasn't needed but I'll still watch. I sure wish Englund was involved somehow.

Now trailers are a different story... Michael Bay most likely has a very detailed say in the way the movie is marketed/packaged/promoted.. but from a creative standpoint - No.. Bay has no involvement other than some casting decisions and the overall financing of the movie.

Huge Nightmare on Elm Street fan... and this one bothers me... he don't look right... and like someone else said, I wish Englund was in the picture, if not playing Freddy... iont know...
